
Located in the Belle Grove Historic District, this beautifully restored, Italianate-style mansion—one of the oldest homes in Fort Smith—serves as a house museum and event venue. Part of the house’s structure was built in 1852 by a wealthy landowner named Sutton. When the Civil War began, the Sutton family fled to Texas, and their southern antebellum-style home was used as a Confederate convalescent hospital.
