Babe Didrikson Zaharias Museum & Visitor Center in Beaumont, Texas

Babe Didrikson shattered both records and glass ceilings during her athletic career. During the 1932 Olympics, she walked home with a silver and two gold medals in track and field. Although she passed away at the age of 45 after a battle with cancer, she accomplished an astonishing amount during her lifetime. Didrikson won 82 professional and amateur golf championships, leading ESPN and Sports Illustrated to later crown her the “Top Woman Athlete of the Twentieth Century.” In addition to the aforementioned, she also played basketball, baseball and other sports….
