Spring Street Museum in Shreveport, Louisiana

The Spring Street Museum began life as Tally’s Bank in 1866. Construction on the building began in 1861, but wasn’t completed until 1865 due to the American Civil War. It has remained one of the oldest surviving buildings in the city of Shreveport. The building officially become the Spring Street Museum in 1977. The small two-story museum is dedicated to telling the history of Shreveport. The Spring Street Museum was officially placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.
